The Incoterms® rules are updated about once every decade by the ICC. The most recent update was in 2020, and before that in 2010. You don’t have to use the latest version of the Incoterms® rules. An incoterm represents a universal term that defines a transaction between importer and exporter so that both parties understand the tasks, costs, risks, and responsibilities, as well as the logistics and transportation management from the exit of the product to the reception by the importing country.
