Located on 50 acres along the Coast of Maine near ocean beaches, this mid-coast Maine family campground with sea kayaking Shad landing at the Pokomoke River State Park is a very well maintained campground. We spent four nights over Thanksgiving 2018 at Deer Run 106 and couldn’t be more happy with this park. The bathhouse on Deer Run is clean & well lit. The dump & rinse for RV is easily accessible and there is potable water to fill fresh tank at the same location. I-95/ME Turnpike to Saco Exit 36 (I-195). Go 1 mile on I-195 and take Exit 2B. This merges onto Rt 1 North (Portland Rd). Go 1.6 miles and turn left at KOA sign, entrance is 100 yards on right.

The campground was very clean and the staff were great. Our dog loved playing in the dog park. Site C4 was brand new with thick grass and a level gravel pad for our 21' trailer and SUV. We didn't try out the on-site cafe this time but will plan to next time. The Saco River Campground is, hands down, the best campground in the area. It is clean and well maintained. You can tell they take pride in their facility. The employees are friendly and respectful. There is plenty for the kids to do and it’s located right in the middle of everything we go to. We will definitely be back next year!

The section of the Saco from Swans Falls in Fryeburg, Maine to the take out in Hiram, Maine, (just above the Rte 117 bridge) is the only section where the “open camping ” agreement is in place. You’re allowed to camp on UNPOSTED sandbars and beaches only.

The Saco River Camping area is one of my favorites. The location is ideal, nestled in the heart of North Conway with easy access to the Saco River. The sites are fairly large and well maintained.
